Web Developer, Web Designer, and Graphic Designer

• Over 15 years’ extensive experience as an innovative and creative Web Developer/Full Stack Web Developer (Front End Developer and Back End Developer), Web Designer and Graphic Designer.
• Designing and developing a user-friendly new website, deploying dynamic and interactive new website, testing, debugging and optimizing web functionality meeting all the requirements. Updating and maintaining existing websites and internet sites.
• Developer Tools: Apache Server, SQL, MySQL, PHP, JavaScript, JQuerry, Ajax, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap.
• Designing and developing brochures, posters, flyers, catalogs, logos and Adobe PDF Fillable forms.
• Designer tools: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and Adobe Pro and LiveCycle Designer.
• Over 10 years experience in Journalism: Radio, TV & Magazine.
• Experienced IT Consultant. 20 years’ experience installing and troubleshooting hardware and software, computer technical support for PC Networking and Remote Desktop.

Web Developer

I was always interested in computers and I decided to have a job by programming them. As a designer I taught myself HTML and CSS, but I really learned how to program at FreeCodeCamp. FreeCodeCamp changed my life - it was a risky decision to quit my job, but it paid off considerably. I think we should all take more risks like that!
Back-End skillset:

Web Designer

I’m attracted to design not just for the pretty colors but for everything that goes on behind the scenes. I am intrigued by the way design ties into the human psyche and how a product you design can completely change human behavior. Aside from wanting to make things look beautiful, design gets me really excited when I know that what I’m working on is a product I believe in and that it has the potential to improve peoples’ lives.
Front-End skillset:
• Web fundamentals like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
• CSS preprocessors like Sass or LESS • JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS, React, or Ember etc., or JS-based build tools like Grunt, Gulp, and Bower
• Libraries like jQuery or Backbone.js
• Front-end (CSS) frameworks like Foundation or Bootstrap AJAX

Graphic Designer

You probably associate the term “graphic design” with movie posters, party invitations, book covers, Catalogs, brochures, business cards, logos, and more. Graphic designers are the creative visionaries behind everything from your favorite websites and apps to brand logos and ebook covers. They are the graphic designers of the digital world we live in, and they play a crucial role in designing the online experiences we interact with every day.
• Working primarily on digital projects hone the strategy and visual identities of brands by designing color, typography, and layout using industry tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Full Stack Web Developer

Full Stack Developer is someone with familiarity in each layer, if not mastery in many and a genuine interest in all software technology.
Layers of the full stack:
• Server, Network, and Hosting Environment. - Appropriate use of the file system, cloud storage, network resources, and an understanding of data redundancy and availability is necessary.
• Data Modeling - Full stack developers know how to create a reasonably normalized relational model, complete with foreign keys, indexes, views, lookup tables, etc.
• Business Logic - The heart of the value the application provides. Solid object oriented skills and Frameworks needed.
• API layer / Action Layer / MVC - How the outside world operates against the business logic and data model. Use of frameworks needed. Full stack developers have the ability to write clear, consistent, simple to use interfaces.
• User Interface - Full stack developers understand how to create a readable layout, implementing a good visual. Include mastery of HTML5 / CSS, JavaScript (node, backbone, knockout…)
• User Experience - Full stack developers appreciate that users just want things to work. A good system doesn’t give its users carpal tunnel syndrome or sore eyes. A full stack developer can step back and look at a process that needs 8 clicks and 3 steps, and get it down to one click. Full stack developers write useful error messages. If something breaks, be apologetic about it. Sometimes programmers inadvertently write error messages that can make people feel stupid.
• Understanding what the customer and the business need. Now we are blurring into the line of architect, but that is too much of a hands off role. Full stack developers have a grasp of what is going on in the field when the customer uses the software. They also have a grasp of the business.
